The manual, chapter by chapter
Show jumps the simulation to that part of the KeyStep Pro and explains it here.
What's new in KeyStep Con
Everything KeyStep Con adds that is not in Arturia's manual. The firmware entries need KSCON firmware (KSCON_2.5.99_…_build<N>_<commit>.kspf, flashed with MCC); stock 2.5.20 ignores them. Show explains each one and lights the buttons it uses; for the web app, Open it takes you there.
About this simulation
Four tracks with 16 patterns of up to 64 steps (up to 16 notes per step), the drum sequencer with 24 lanes, three arpeggiators, scales and user scales, chord mode, transpose (with groups and latch), quick edit, step edit, step and real-time recording, overdub, the Shift step functions, step skip, pages, chains, scenes, projects with save/copy/erase/recall, the looper strip, control mode, the Utility menu, tempo, swing, metronome and Web MIDI in/out all work.
Firmware notes
Some behaviour here follows the decoded 2.5.20 firmware rather than the manual. Those places are marked with a blue “Firmware” note in the help text.
Simplified or not simulated
- Sounds are stand-ins; CV/Gate outputs, clock in/out, sync and pedal are settings only.
- Arpeggiator randomness, keyboard splits and the Program Change assign page are simplified.
- Copy/paste of individual notes inside a step and the Chroma colour sets are not simulated.
- Multi-touch is replaced by holding with right-click (or long-press on touch) and then pressing other controls.
